Power Dynamos coach Tennant Chilumba says they will be ready for Al Khartoum SC in the 2015 Caf Confederation Cup.

The Kitwe side returns to continental club football for the first time since 2012, after they were drawn against the Sudanese side in the preliminary round of next year’s Confederation Cup.

Power will travel to Khartoum for the first leg on February 14.

The 2014 FAZ Super League runners-up will then host Al Khartoum on February 28 at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

“When I was coach at Hwange in Zimbabwe we played a Sudanese team in our continental matches. We drew 2-2 at home and we lost 3-0 away,” Chilumba said.

“Half of my team has played for the national team and in continental football before so we just have to be focused and prepare well.”

However, Power have not enjoyed much luck recently against Sudanese opposition.

In 2001, Power tumbled at the first hurdle when they lost 2-1 at home to El Merreikh to exit 4-1 on aggregate from the first round of the CAF Champions League.

Meanwhile, winner over both legs between Khartoum and Power will play either Polisi of Zanzibar or Gabonese club CF Mounana in the first round, first leg away in mid-March.
