Pukuta counsels Zambians over Christmas

PukutaEvangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza says Christmas should not be about extravagance, dancing or euphoria but about a sense of reverent worship of God.

Reverend Mwanza has cautioned people not to engage in drinking alcohol and other vices that they are prone to do during the festive season citing that these are likely to cause them to shift their focus from Jesus Christ.

He notes that the people of Zambia should instead use this season to embrace love, reconciliation and friendship.

Reverend Mwanza adds that Christmas is a time to show love to others the same way Christ showed love to everyone by coming on earth and dying.

He also explains that the purpose of Christmas time is to celebrate the gift of God to mankind and therefore should dedicate their time to worshipping God and evaluating one’s self to ensure that they reflect the love of God to people.

Reverend Mwanza has further advised Zambians to reach out to the poor and vulnerable and give them a meaning to celebrate Christmas.
