MISA hails media over 2015 presidential election coverage

The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia chapter has hailed the media for the coverage they have given to all political parties taking part in the 2015 presidential election.

MISA Zambia chapter Chairperson Hellen Mwale says the media should be commended because they are doing well in their coverage of the ongoing election campaigns.

Ms. Mwila has told Qfm News that this is why MISA finds complaints of biasness against some media houses by some political parties not genuine because such complaints have not been proven.

She says MISA finds these complaints as only an excuse by some political parties to harass media practitioners.

The MISA Zambia chapter Chairperson says MISA is against any form of harassment of journalists because media houses have tried to be balanced and objective in their reporting.

She says MISA is of the view that as opposed to harassing the media, political parties should instead work with the media by selling their ideas to the electorates through the media.

Ms. Mwale has since advised political parties to stay away from the media if they have nothing to tell the Zambian people.
