YALI welcomes establishment of Physical General Office

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has commended the Zambia Medical Association (ZMA) for its u -turn and giving appropriate guidance on the establishment of the office of the Physician General that would preside over the health of Zambia’s President.

YALI had earlier proposed as similar establishment in August this year at the height of debate on the health of late President Michael Sata but a proposal which the ZMA through its president Aaron Mujajati trashed saying that even just one medical doctor can preside over the health of the republican president as long as that particular individual has easy access to health experts.

In an interview with Qfm News YALI governance advisor Isaac Mwanza says his organization is however happy that what it called for in August this year has come to pass.

Mr. Mwanza states YALI is in the same vein never in contest with associations such as the ZMA but that its recommendations are normally arrived at with due care and consultations with various experts in different fields.

He says is organization therefore calls upon the ZMA and the general public to support the idea it had initially proposed which has now been accepted by the ZMA which had earlier rejected the proposal.

Mr. Mwanza has further called upon the ZMA to in future take not of the importance of never trashing proposals of others without first analysing them.
