JCTR hails govt

Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) has hailed government commitment to strengthening the budgeting process in the year 2014.

JCTR director father Leonard Chiti notes that government has in the past months shown commitment in ensuring that public funds are well managed.

Father Chiti has also expressed gratitude that the office of the auditor general in collaboration with anti corruption commission (ACC) is doing a recommendable job making sure that those that are abusing public funds are answerable.

Father Chiti notes that so far the first practical steps taken that will effectively be used to strengthen the budget process.

Father Chiti has also reiterated the need for   government to ensure that qualified technocrats deal with the budget executions.

He stresses that in as much as JCTR welcomes government’s commitment to strengthening the budgeting process there is need for reality to be shown than just politicking on such important issues.
