Three die on spost in Kapiri-Ndola road accident

albetr accidentThree people from the same family have died on the spot at Kawama Market in Kashitu area along Kapiri – Ndola road after being hit by a speeding vehicle going to Lusaka from Ndola.

Our staffer Albert Mpezeni, who was coming from Masaiti on the Copperbelt to Lusaka, reports that the driver of a Benz car registration number ADD 2104 was avoiding hitting a parked truck and thereby hitting the three women.

He reports that The accident happened at around 8hrs and the driver of the car is believed to be on the run after realizing that he had killed the three people.

Webby Mundela, a relative to the three deceased, has confirmed the death of the three members of the family to journalists.

Mr. Mundela says his mother Febby Ngosa, 54, his aunty Sashi Ngosa 52, and his younger sister Mwimba Mutale, 15, were on their way to the farm when they met their fate.

Mr. Mundela explains that Mwimba the youngest, came to Kashitu yesterday for a holiday after writing her Grade nine examinations.

And Ndola District Commissioner Webby Malekani Chanda, who found the accident on his way to Lusaka to witness the filing in of nominations for PF President Edgar Lungu, expressed shock that three people from the same family can die in such a horrific manner.

And the driver of the parked truck, who preferred to remain unknown, explained that the driver of the Benz car was over speeding and that’s why he failed to avoid hitting the three pedestrians.

The remains of the deceased were taken to Kapiri Mposhi Mortuary waiting postmortem and burial.
