Edgar Lungu filing his nomination papers

Ruling Patriotic Front (PF) presidential candidate Edgar Lungu has this afternoon successfully filed in his nomination papers before acting chief justice Lombe Chibesakunda to participate in the 2015 presidential election.

Mr. Lungu was in the company of his wife Esther, acting President Guy Scott and his wife Charlotte and PF Secretary General Davis Chama among other party officials.

Speaking shortly after the filling in of nomination ceremony Mr. Lungu, who is also Defense and Justice Minister, said his party the ruling PF is ready to continue governing the nation.

He notes that now that reconciliation has taken place in the PF the party will go full throttle in the presidential campaigns with the view of retaining the presidency.

The PF president has also promised that his party will ensure that it respects and observe the electoral code of conduct during its campaigns and that no violence will be tolerated.

He has further promised that for the fact that the ruling PF is now united it will run an inclusive government once voted in.

And Dr. Scott has expressed optimism that the ruling PF will retain the presidency come January 20th 2015.

Meanwhile Christian Democratic party president Danny Pule has also successfully filed in his nomination papers for the January 2015 presidential election.

Reverend Pule has appealed to Zambians to give him the support because his party is determined to ensure that the cost of living in the country is reduced.

He states will also introduce free education from grade one to grade twelve if elected as president.
