Nawakwi laments conduct of PF officials,files nominations

Opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) Leader Edith Nawakwi has charged that the continued immature conduct by senior Patriotic Front officials is endangering the security of the nation.

Ms Nawakwi says the conduct of the ruling PF is not inspiring confidence on the international community.
Ms Nawakwi states that a lot of people are having sleepless nights not knowing what tomorrow holds for them.

Speaking during the Public discussion Forum organized by the Press Freedom Committee of the Post in Lusaka last evening, Ms Nawakwi says the PF government is not providing a conducive working environment for the mining firms.

Ms Nawakwi cites the issue of VAT refunds as one such example that shows that the PF government is not working well with the mining companies.

She says it is important that the ruling party paves way for another party which is willing to formulate good mining policies.

Ms Nawakwi adds that Zambia should emulate Chile which is doing so well in terms of mining because investors are at peace to invest their monies in the mining sector.

The FDD Leader laments that the PF government has lamentably failed to formulate policies that will favor both the people of Zambia and the investors in the mining industry.

Meanwhile Forum for Democracy and Development President Edith Nawakwi has successfully filed in her nomination papers before acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda for the 20th January presidential election.

Ms Nawakwi who was accompanied by her husband Mr Hambulo,FDD Vice President Chifumu Banda and party supporters has pledged to transform the Zambian economy once elected President.

She told Journalists after filing her nomination papers that time has come for a new beginning in Zambia.

She says the FDD in government will ensure that the agriculture sector is top priority so that farmers can feel recognised as they continue to feed the nation.

Ms Nawakwi says her party is ready to offer economic and social security.

She has since expressed confidence that she will win the forthcoming presidential election.

Others expected to file nominations today are National Restoration Party candidate Elias Chipimo and the United Poor Peoples of Zambia Freedom Party candidate.
