Scott’s letter to acting Chief Justice is contemptuous – Chama

Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davis Chama has described as contemptuous Acting President Guy Scott’s letter to acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda in which he has advised her not to entertain any nomination from the ruling PF not until party matters before the courts are concluded.

Mr. Chama says this is because matters relating to the PF presidency are still before the courts of law for anyone to comment on.

Mr. Chama has told Qfm News that by writing a letter to the acting Chief Justice, Dr. Scott is also actually interfering with electoral process an act which is also in breach of the country’s constitution.

Mr. Chama says such an act as exhibited by Dr. Scott has further demonstrated yet again his total disregard of the law in the same manner he allegedly allowed a party General Conference to take place despite the court issuing an injunction to restrain it.

Mr. Chama has stated that his party is however confident that the Judiciary will interpret the law accordingly because it believes that the Judiciary has men and women who cannot be interfered with.

He says as far as the ruling party is concerned it has a party president who will file nominations come Saturday 20th December.

The PF Secretary General has however made an assurance that his party will respect the rule of law.
