Relevance of newly formed Rainbow Party questioned

Political analyst Alex Ng’oma has questioned how different the new Rainbow Party led by former Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba will be from the already existing political parties.

Dr Ng’oma notes that though Mr. Kabimba has the democratic right to form a political party, there is need to look at the implication of forming a new political party on the opposition.

Dr. Ng’oma points out that the more fragmented the opposition is, the weaker it becomes.

Dr Ng’oma has however congratulated Mr Kabimba for exercising his democratic right by forming a political party.

Mr. Kabimba yesterday announced the formation of his new Rainbow Party.

He said he has decided to form his own party because the violence in the ruling Patriotic Front.
