Mujimazonvu urges preparedness ahead of rain season related disasters

Chief Mujimazonvu of the Kaonde People in Solwezi has appealed to government to prepare adequately for this rainy season.

Chief Mujimazonvu says the fact that rains have started late does not mean that they will be disasters but that government should come up with lasting solutions to disasters that are avoidable.

Chief Mujimazonvu says it is sad that some parts of the country have been experiencing the same kind of disasters every rain season when the disasters can be prevented once and for all.

The traditional leader notes that last rainy season was not good for his chiefdom due to the heavy rains and hopes that this year will not be the same.

Chief Mujimazonvu has further called on the disaster management and mitigation unit to be ready for the rainy season and be on time when called upon by affected areas
