Bronson Chama replaces injured Nyambe

Bronson_Chama580Honour Janza has recalled Red Arrows defender Bronson Chama following Nyambe Mulenga’s injury sustained in a car accident.

Nyambe is out for twelve weeks and will miss the 2015 Africa Cup after breaking his right leg in a car accident on Sunday morning en route to joining Zambia’s pre-tournament training camp in Lusaka.

Two other callups; midfielder Changwe Kalale and goalkeeper Satchmo Chakawa were also injured in the same accident.

Janza said Chama is one of three options the bench is looking at to replace Nyambe.

“Of course we are looking at positions. We have brought in Bronson Chama,” Janza said.

Coincidentally, Chama has just returned from a long-term injury sustained at Arrows during the 2014 pre-season training.

Chama is also back in the fold for the first time since captaining Zambia to a third place finish at the 2014 CECAFA Cup held in Kenya last December.

Janza added that he had also called up defender Aaron Katebe of Zimbabwean club FC Platinum and Angolan-based fullback Lawrence Phiri.

“We are hoping the players that we are bringing will be able to adapt quickly so that the gap the three injured players have left can easily be filled,” Janza said.
