Bafana to face Zambia, Cameroon

SouthAfricaTraining580_580x473It looks as if South Africa will begin their preparations for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with training games against Zambia and Cameroon.

First up is Zambia on January 4 at Orlando Stadium while the Cameroon match is currently being discussed and could happen between January 8 and 15.

The Cameroon Football Federation is holding talks with three associations to finalise their warm-up friendlies schedule and Safa is one of them.

The Lions of Cameroon could first face DR Congo in Yaoundé, before battling South Africa and Gabon in Libreville.

Cameroon Team Press Officer Vincent de Paul Atangana said: “The first stage (of our preparation) will end up with a friendly against another African team qualified for the tournament and whose camp will be based in Yaoundé.

“Talks are underway with Democratic Republic of Congo who will be based in Yaoundé,” Atangana explained in an official announcement.

“Libreville is a good venue for warm-up friendlies. Negotiations are taking place with South Africa and Gabon,” he added.

Bafana Bafana have been drawn in the ‘group of death’ alongside Ghana, Algeria and Senegal and kick off their campaign against powerhouse Algeria.

The South African Football Association (Safa) are due to announce any further warm-up matches for Bafana as the details are confirmed.
