TALC calls protection of inmates

Treatment advocacy literacy campaign (TALC) has called for much more drastic interventions to protect more lives of inmates in prisons throughout the Country.

TALC country director Felix Mwanza says there is need for more sensitization on dangers of Sodomy in prisons.

Mr. Mwanza says it’s up to government to decide on which interventions to be embarked on to ensure that inmates are well protected from contracting HIV aids and sexually transmitted diseases while in custody.

Mr. Mwanza also observes that inmates are also human and they do lose out on certain privileges’ when they in prison.
He adds that in all fairness and interest serious interventions must be considered.
