PF rebuts 65 years retirement age that has been asserted

The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has refuted assertions by Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska that government has asserted the requisite public service retirement age from 55 to 65 years.

PF Secretary General Davis Chama has clarified that there has been no formal conclusiveness between government and Cabinet Office on the alleged asserted 65 years retirement age.

In a statement to Qfm News Mr. Chama has stated that the position of his party is that it is going to engage the Trade Union bodies, Cabinet Office and other stakeholders to consult in order to come up with an amicable position.

He says the amicable position his party is referring to is that which will be beneficial to civil and private service and the people in the country in general.
