The Southern African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) says the decision to extend the 2015 presidential election filing of nominations timetable is commendable.
Executive Director Boniface Cheembe says his organization is happy that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has given a chance to all political parties that are vying for the country’s presidency to file their nominees.
Mr. Cheembe has told Qfm News in an interview that political parties that have problems on settling on one presidential candidate now have an opportunity to resolve such wrangles.
He says his organization however hopes there will be no further extension of the timetable for the filing of nominations.
The SACCORD Executive Director has since called on political parties that are engulfed in wrangles to maximize the window opportunity that the ECZ has provided.
