Do more to uplift lives of persons with disabilities – Ngwale asks govt

HIV/ Aids and human rights activist Elijah Ngwale has appealed to government to do more in uplifting the welfare of persons with disabilities.

Mr. Ngwale has told Qfm that very little has been done to ensure that the persons with disabilities act no. 6 of 2012 is implemented.

Mr. Ngwale notes that there is need for government to pay attention to issues affecting all persons with disabilities.

He says if government is not ready to begin implementing the disabilities act no. 6 of 2012, it should call for an indaba to give time for persons with disabilities to express their concerns.

Mr. Ngwale has since appealed to government to ensure that persons with disabilities are considered in policy making because they are also human.
