The opposition UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that government begins to pay farmers on time once he is elected president.

In a statement to Qfm News Mr. Hichilema states that his government will get its priorities right in order to address the issue of delaying payment of farmers that sell produce to government as a means of lifting them out of alleged poverty.

Mr. Hichilema has also reiterated the need to immediately reduce the cost of fuel once his party forms government.

The UPND leader was today scheduled to hold rallies and meetings in Chinsali and later Mpika where his party was to also pay a courtesy call on Chief Chikwanda of the Bisa people.

And Mr. Hichilema says he is humbled to meet Chief Mwata Kazembe of the Lunda people and Chief Mpolokoso of the Bemba people.

Mr. Hichilema, who has been accompanied, in his campaign tours, by Lunte Member of Parliament Felix Mutati, UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango and his entourage, says he greatly appreciates the counsel and blessings that has been given to him by the two traditional leaders.
