EFZ Calls on Government to Enhance Voter Sensitization

The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has called on the government, civil society organizations and other stakeholders to enhance voter sensitization and awareness programs to encourage the electorate to vote in the forthcoming presidential elections.

EFZ Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza says failure by government and the relevant stakeholders to raise more awareness, the forthcoming presidential elections may be marred with high voter apathy as a result of what has been happening in the recent past.

Reverend Mwanza says it is important that Zambians are encouraged to go and vote for a leader of their choice and not to let only a few people to go and vote citing that in a democratic country, people should freely elect their leaders by voting.

He adds that Zambians should forget what they have gone through in the past and move on by electing a new leader that they can trust and hold accountable if the leader that they elect fails to deliver according to their expectations.

Reverend Mwanza has also commended political parties for the peaceful campaigns so far and has urged them to continue even after the elections.
He has further appealed to the people of Zambia to continue being peaceful and to also turn out in large numbers to vote.
