ZCSD urges Zambians to vote wisely

Zambians have been reminded that power is always in their hands in the absence of a substantive republican president.

The Zambia Council for Social Development (ZCSD) says it is for this reason that as they go to vote on 20th January 2015, they should entrust power with a political party that will show maturity during the entire period leading to the election.

ZCSD Executive Director Lewis Mwape says this means that whichever political party the people of Zambia will vote for, it will have to exhibited good leadership and provide direction for the country’s economic recovery.

Mr. Mwape says the people of Zambia need vote for a leader who will be committed to ending poverty and who will show commitment to narrowing inequality in the country.

He has told Qfm News in an interview that his organization is concerned that a majority of Zambians are still living in abject poverty despite the country recording positive economic growth.

Mr. Mwape says it is therefore important that whoever becomes Zambia’s new President will ensure that the economic growth the country is recording begins to trickle down to the majority of the Zambian people.
