The United Party for National Development (UPND) says its disturbed by continued reports of its being attacked especially in bus stops, markets, and other places during ongoing campaigns.

UPND Vice President Richard Kapita says the party is further receiving reports of its campaign materials such as posters and billboards being torn down and defaced.

Mr Kapita says as a peaceful party, they have urged their members to refrain themselves from any form of retaliation or violence.

He says party president Hakainde Hichilema has so far been well received in all parts of the country spreading messages of peace, unite, and conducting an issue-based campaign.

Mr Kapita says from their campaign tours, it is clear Zambians detest violence.

He states that Zambians want to know who will bring the price of mealie meal and fuel down.

He adds that Zambians, especially farmers want to know how they will be quickly paid their money for their produce.

Mr Kapita further states that youths and women, want to know who will create decent jobs, as well as affordable and quality education and health care, and not who is more violent.

He has since called on the police to quickly discipline these known hooligans engaging in electoral malpractice by attacking UPND members and defacing UPND campaign materials.
