CSOs called upon to speak for the voiceless

Diakonia Zambia country Director Sombo Chunda has called on civil society organizations to ensure they speak for the voiceless people in communities.

Ms. Chunda has told Qfm news that it is high time civil society organizations step up their efforts to help local communities benefit from the natural resources in their localities by speaking on their behalf.

She says it is encouraging to see traditional leaders engaging in dialogue with companies that are operating in communities where people have been neglected to the extent of having their land sold out to investors.

Ms Chunda states that such infringement on human rights should not be tolerated.
