Katunta denies filing complaint against Lungu in Lusaka Magistrate Court

Austin Katunta the man that is alleged to have filed a complaint in the Lusaka Magistrate Court over the classified Cabinet minutes recorded during the power transfer procedure following the death of President Michael Sata, has denied ever filing such a complaint.

In this matter in which the transfer of power to vice president Dr. Guy Scott has been questioned by former Deputy Minister of Finance Newton Nguni, Tourism Minister Jean Kapata and Defense and Justice Minister Edgar Lungu backed their contest of the alleged irregularities in manner in which the handover of the Presidency was done, with Cabinet minutes of October 29th 2014 which have since been removed by the Court.

Speaking at a media briefing this morning Mr. Katunta has disclosed to journalists that he never filed a complaint against Mr. Lungu and Ms. Kapata on which the Lusaka Magistrate has been requested to institute criminal proceedings against the duo.

Mr. Katunta has wondered why his name has been dragged in this matter when he did not give any consent.

He says for the fact that this is clearly an issue of forgery that his named was used in this manner with a forged signature, he is calling upon the Zambia Police to investigate the matter.
