ICOZ says political party wrangles weakening political system

The Independence Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) has observed that the continued internal strife in some political parties is weakening the political system of the country.

ICOZ Board Chairperson David Masupa says the vindictiveness in some political parties is worrying as they becoming a threat to democracy.

Bishop Masupa states that the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) which is a party in government should lead by example as opposed to its failure to resolve succession wrangles ahead of the 2015 presidential election.

He says much as the members of the ruling PF want to exercise their democracy, he thinks that they should do so while respecting each other as well as agreeing on one thing.

He adds that what is being witnessed now is unacceptable for a party that is in power citing that it has the potential to cost the votes.
