The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has advised government against borrowing the hinted US$100million meant to pay Lap Green Company.

UPND Vice President for Politics Dr. Canicius Banda says the UPND is aware that the Patriotic Front (PF) government wants to use the commission from the US $1 million money it allegedly wants to borrow to use it for its 2015 presidential campaigns.

Dr. Banda says he is of the view that the PF government ought to be responsible in the way it is borrowing money.

He says his party has information that the Ministry of Finance is allegedly under pressure to borrow money to pay Lap Green the company that the PF government repossessed from Libyan and handed it back to ZAMTEL.

Speaking this morning during a media briefing in Lusaka, Dr. Banda has observed that the country is in its jubilee year and thus to start a new beginning.

Dr. Banda says the UNPD will not tolerate the PF to abuse state machinery and public funds during the campaigns for the forthcoming presidential election.

He has also accused the ruling PF of sending a ZNBC Crew to Paramount Chief Chitimukulu’s palace to force the Bemba Royal Establishment to denounce the UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema.
