The Luangwa District and Constituency UNIP Executives together with the entire District
Membership have withdrawn their earlier statement calling for the resignation of their party President, Tilyenji Kaunda.
The UNIP members have since reaffirmed their full support Mr. Kaunda as UNIP presidential candidate in the 20th January, 2015 Presidential by-elections.
Luangwa District UNIP Chairman, Olden Tembo says the membership in the District regret their earlier statement of calling for the resignation of their party president, Tilyenji Kaunda
Mr. Tembo explains that District and Constituency officials were misled by a few senior party officials among them Beatrice Kayuni who told them to join in the calling of the resignation of their party president as someone who was not taking the party anywhere.
He states that have all apologized to the Central and the party president, Tilyenji Kaunda and have pledged to support the party president.
