New political party counsels PF

Newly formed opposition Genuine People’s Platform (GPP) has observed that the current wrangles in ruling Patriotic Front could have been avoid if acting President Guy Scott had taken a neutral role.

GPP interim president David Chanda says it was expected that following the death of President Michael Sata, Dr. Scott should have remained impartial by not siding with any of the camps that have emerged in the ruling party.

Mr. Chanda has told Qfm News that his party is of the view that lack of impartiality on part of the acting republican president is therefore Dr. Scott’s biggest challenge in providing leadership to the ruling party during the current power transition period.

He says Dr. Scott could have provided appropriate leadership by not taking sides in the leadership succession of the ruling PF.

And Mr. Chanda has disclosed that the Genuine People’s Platform is currently conducting consultations as to whether to contest the 2015 presidential election slated for 20th of January or not.
