Govt appeals to NGOs to address stigmatization of persons with disability

Government has appealed to Non Governmental Organizations to help address the stigmatization of persons with disabilities by society.

Community, development, mother and child health Minister Emerine Kabanshi has told Qfm news that more needs to be done to ensure society embraces persons with disabilities.

Ms. Kabanshi says non governmental organizations have the responsibility to check and monitor programs aimed at improving the welfare of persons with disabilities.

She says government will always be available to address the challenges being faced by all persons with disabilities.

Ms Kabanshi adds that Zambians have the responsibility to reach out to people living with disabilities in communities where they belong.
