Janza calls locals for camp

Chipolopolo coach Honour Janza has summoned 24-home-based players for Zambia’s preliminary pre-2015 Africa Cup training camp that kicks off next Sunday.

Football Association of Zambia spokesperson Nkweto Tembwe said the training camp will run from December 14-23 in Lusaka.

“Players are expected to be in Lusaka from 14-23 December. Full camp that includes foreign based players will commence on December 26, 2014,” Tembwe said.

Janza has called up 2014 Golden Boot winner Jackson Mwanza who scored 15 goals for champions Zesco United in the FAZ Super Division.

However, Power Dynamos striker Jimmy Ndhlovu who finished second with 14 goals has been overlooked.Chipolopolo

Nkana striker Ronald Kampamba who has one goal less than Ndhlovu is in the team alongside his clubmate Festus Mbewe who scored five goals this season.

Mbewe returns to the fold for the first time since the 2013 Cecafa Cup in Kenya where Zambia finished third.

Also back is defender Dennis Banda who last played for Zambia in an away friendly against Malawi in July 2012.

Meanwhile, Janza is expected to trim the locals to 12 at the of the Lusaka training camp.
