Developments in PF are disgraceful – VJ

Veteran Politician Vernon Mwaanga has described as disgraceful the developments in the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in last few days.

In statement issued to Qfm News Dr. Mwaanga notes that such developments are also grossly undermining the democracy which Zambians sacrificed for.

Dr. Mwaanga states that the ruling party has the inescapable duty to provide leadership to the country by conducting itself in a sober manner especially after the untimely passing of President Michael Sata.

He says owing to what is happening in ruling PF, it is has now become evident to him that the late President Sata left a leadership deficit in ruling PF when he died.

Dr Mwaanga has however advised that as the country prepares for the forthcoming presidential election on 20^th January, 2015, Zambians can be forgiven for asking themselves whether the forthcoming presidential election will be held conducted in a free, fair transparent and democratic manner in accordance with international standards set in the SADC, EU and UN protocols.

And Mr. Mwaanga notes that while he condemns the violence in the ruling PF, he appeals to leaders in the ruling party to control their followers and firmly urge them to desist from acts of violence.

He says this is because violence begets violence and should therefore never become part of the Zambian people’s DNA.
