Zambia does not need a dictatorial leader – ZSCD

The Zambia Council for Social Development (ZSCD) says Zambia needs a president that will prioritize issues of local development and citizen participation in national governance.

ZSCD Executive Director Lewis Mwape says the kind of President his organization is hoping for should not have any dictatorial tendencies.

In an interview with Qfm News, Mr. Mwape states that this means that whoever will be elected president should be a product of a democratic process within their own party in order for them uphold the tenets of democracy once elected republican President.

Mr. Mwape has warned that should Zambians make the mistake of electing a dictator of a president, they risk being subjected to oppression.

He says it is therefore important that the people of Zambia take note of the manner in which all 2015 presidential candidates have been selected in their respective parties before they chose who to vote for come January 20th.
