Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa has withdrawn from the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) presidential race.

In a statement released to Qfm News this morning by his spokesperson Chitambala Mwewa, Mr. Sampa who is also Commerce Deputy Minister explains that his pulling out from the party presidential race follows his reflection on the crossroad that his party has found itself.

Mr. Sampa notes that the last few weeks have been full of trials and tribulations but that the defining moments for the ruling PF will not be such recent events.

He says it will be how the party leaves the General conference that is due to take place in Kabwe.

The Matero Member of Parliament states that it is for this reason that he has offered himself as part of the solution of abetting chaos and division in the party in order that it remains a united front.

He says now that he has formally announced his withdrawal as a candidate in the party’s presidential race he will support and work with any of the remaining candidates that will be elected at the General Conference.

The Parliamentarian however notes that he particularly found the campaign trail fulfilling and worthwhile except that it is now time for him to look ahead.

He has since apologized and urged all the delegates and the people that found hope in him to remain peaceful and keep the faith.

Mr. Sampa has also thanked his campaign team and family for the support they gave him.
