MTN to heed ZICTA directive

MTN Zambia says it will adhere to the directive by the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) for all mobile service providers to suspend all promotions being offered to consumers.

MTN Zambia Corporate Service General Manager Mwenzi Mulenga says though they received the news late, what is important is to comply if found wanting in any particular area.

Mrs. Mulenga however, notes that despite the ban on promotions, MTN will continue to provide quality services to its customers.

She says management is scrutinizing the directive and has requested to meet ZICTA and see how best the issue can be handled for the benefit of not only MTN or ZICTA but the people of Zambia.

Mrs. Mulenga further states that at the moment, they cannot tell whether their business will be affected by the directive give by ZICTA.
