Some PF Central Committee members say suspension of their colleagues is shocking, illegal

WinaThe Patriotic Front (PF) Central Committee says the suspension of the sixteen Central Committee members by the Acting President Guy Scott is illegal and therefore null and void.

Central Committee Members have told QFM News in a statement that they have learnt with regret that a media statement was issued yesterday by the Acting President Dr. Guy Scott, purporting to suspend 16 officials that include Members of the Central Committee and Members of Parliament.

They have said they are shocked by this action as they had yesterday met and resolved to extend an olive branch to Dr. Guy Scott.

They have said the meeting also resolved to allow the General Conference slated for next week, to elect a Party President and Presidential Candidate to go ahead.

They have also resolved to attend to the Meeting called by Acting Secretary General Bridget Atanga today at 12hrs at State House.

The members say they are surprised by the action to suspend party officials without cause and justification as the Central Committee had resolved all outstanding issues including matters related to Dr. Scott.

The Central Committee members have stated that the 16 who are purported to be suspended remain valid and are bona-fide holders of their positions and remain full members of the party.

They have since advised Dr. Scott to take the opportunity of the meeting at State House today to raise any concerns he may hold.

The statement was issued and signed by Davies Mwila , Yamfwa Mukanga, Esther Banda, Samuel Mukupa , Alfredah Mwamba and Emmanuel Mpankata, on behalf of the central committee.
