Mr Mwape says political actors should maintain peace and stability during the campaigns and the by-elections.

Mr. Mwape says it will also be important for the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to act in a manner that will foster democracy, peace and stability.

He adds that the economic prosperity of Zambia depends on the shared responsibility as citizens and political leaders to suppress incessant personal appetite for power.

Mr. Mwape has appealed to the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) to ensure that the forthcoming presidential by-election is organized in way that will promote democracy, transparency, accountability and national Integrity.

He has also urged opposition political parties to be disciplined and conduct themselves in a respectable manner.
