Presidential poll set for January 20th

Acting Republican President has announced that the Presidential by-election will be held on the 20th January, 2015.

And the Acting President has announced that official campaigns begin today 18th November, 2014.

Addressing a media briefing at his office in Lusaka today, Dr. Scott says the date was set in accordance with the country’s constitution which stipulates that the by-election be held within 90 days after the death of the incumbent Republican President.

And Dr. Scott says the ruling Patriotic Front is not having difficulties in selecting its presidential candidate ahead of the 20th January polls.
