People’s party President Mike Mulongoti says his party will wait for the political alliance to which it is part to make a decision on how they will go about the Presidential by-election.
Mr Mulongoti has told Qfm News that the alliance will meet to decide on whether they will field one candidate or not.
He notes that it is after a decision has been made by the alliance that he will decide on the next course of action.
Mr Mulongoti says his party is ready for whatever decision will be made by the alliance members be it going into the election as an alliance or as individual parties.
He further states that whatever decision the political alliance will make will be in the interest of the people of Zambia and therefore the people should not worry.
And opposition All People’s Congress (APC) president Nason Msoni says his party will respect the collective decision of the alliance pertaining to how to go about the presidential election.
Mr Msoni states that in an event where the alliance fails to pick a candidate, they will have an obligation to outsource a candidate, adding that there is need for a presidential candidate with experience as they cannot afford to have a job on training situation.
