The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Southern Province says it will conduct solidarity matches in support of party Secretary General Edgar Lungu as the ruling party’s presidential candidate in the 2015 presidential by-election.
Former Livingstone District youth Chairperson Gift Lwembe says the solidarity match for Mr. Lungu’s presidential candidature is planned for Friday, 14th November or Saturday 15th November.
Mr. Lwembe, who is part of the party officials that have been tasked to mobilize the party in the province shortly after late President Michael Sata’s burial, has stated that his camp is supporting Mr. Lungu.
He says his side is convinced beyond doubt that Mr. Lungu who is also Defence and Justice Minister is the right person to be the PF candidate in the forthcoming Presidential by-election as evidenced by the preferential treatment and trust the late President Sata conferred on him.
Mr. Lwembe states that this preferential treatment and trust was vividly repeatedly shown by the late President who left him with the instruments of power at many occasions that he travelled abroad.
He says this blessing that President Sata laid on Mr. Lungu therefore makes him the right person to be the PF 2015 presidential candidate.
