Unity, peace is critical for investor confidence – Hamaundu

Zambians have been reminded to be wary that unity and peace will be critical for investor confidence and economic stability after the national mourning period of late President Michael Sata.

Financial Analyst Mambo Hamaundu has observed the need for the leaders in the country to ensure that peace and unity are maintained to avoid fear and anxiety.

Mr. Hamaundu sates that it is this fear and anxiety he thinks can result in erosion of investor confidence of the country.

He notes that prudent management of the political affairs of country will spur economic confidence even though the financial and capital markets may witness fluctuations following the demise of the President.

Mr. Hamaundu says what will matter is how the transition will be handled emphasis that unity and peace will be most important.

He says therefore hopes with the death of President Sat investors will still continue to investing in the country.
