Lungu reiterates need to mourn Sata with respect

Ruling Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Edgar Lungu has reiterated the need for people in the country to mourn the late President Michael Sata with honor, respect and order.

Mr. Lungu is encouraging people at all levels to accommodate fellow mourners who are drawn from across political, religious and other divides.

In a statement made available to Qfm News today by PF Director for Media and Publicity Brian Hapunda, Mr. Lungu who is also Defense and Justice Minister has also thanked all party members and the general public for the outpouring support during the difficult time the nation is going through.

And Lungu has reminded mourners in the ruling party and the general public that Cabinet office has issued a comprehensive programme for the national mourning of late President Sata.

Mr. Lungu notes that the at national level, the mourning programme is accommodating foreign and local dignitaries, Cabinet and Deputy Ministers, other government officials, party officials, opposition leaders, church leaders, civic leaders and members of the public from within Lusaka and nearby places.

He says on the Provincial mourning programme which extends to District centers he is encouraging PF members and the general public that government has designated provincial centers extending to all nearing districts as mourning centers.

Mr. Lungu has since called upon members of his party and the general public to consider traveling to these designated centers to avoid congestion and other transportation challenges that may arise due to long distances to Lusaka.
