Land Alliance calls for land Act review

Zambia Land Alliance has called on government to review the Land Act if Zambia is to be food secure and address poverty levels in both urban and rural areas of the country.
ZLA project Coordinator Raphael Chiwampu says Zambia has great agriculture potential if only the country addresses the issue of land.
In an interview with QFM News, Mr Chkiwampu notes that the absence of a land policy has hindered both social and economical development in the country.
Mr Chikwampu says time is now for the government to speed up the process of coming up with a land policy by reviewing the land Act.

He further notes that there is still need to empower the rural people in the country with access to customary land as it is affordable and cheap to access by the ordinary poor Zambians.
Mr Chikwampu states that empowering the rural people with land is critical in bringing about household food security.
