Sata had passion to serve the poor- Muyembe

PROTUZ General Secretary Albert Muyembe says President Sata was a man who had passion to serve the poor and was hardworking and committed to duty.

Mr Muyembe says the teaching fraternity in the country will also remember him as man who introduced a fixed pay as well as a fixed pay day for teachers in the country.

Mr. Muyembe says President Sata fought corruption in the ministry of Education resulting in his union’s certificate which was revoked being restored.

He adds that President Sata’s government brought sanity in the running of unions in the country with their non interference policy.

Mr. Muyembe further states that President Sata will also be remembered for increasing salaries for public service workers by over 50%.
