Rupiah,Never mourn Archbishop Spaita

Former President Rupiah Bwezani Banda has described the late Archbishop Emeritus James Mwewa Spaita of Kasama archdiocese as a man who led an exemplary life worth emulating.

Mr Banda says he had known he late retired Archbishop for a long time and will remember him as a humble servant of God who dedicated his entire life to the salvation of mankind.

In a message of condolences addressed to the Archbishop of Kasama Ignatius Chama, the former head of State says he hopes the Zambian people can continue to follow the path that the late clergyman set by aspiring to live in accordance with Biblical principles.

Mr Banda says while it is not easy to emulate people who have led exemplary lives, it is his hope that Zambians can endeavour to emulate Archbishop emeritus Spaita.

This is contained in a statement issued to QFM News by the former President’s administrative assistant Kennedy Limwanya.

And MMD President Nevers Mumba says it is with great shock and utmost regret that he learnt of the passing of Archbishop Emeritus James Spaita on 4th November, 2014.

Dr Mumba says Archbishop Spaita served his church and the community with dignity and honour and was dearly loved by his congregation.

Dr Mumba has since on behalf of the MMD conveyed deepest condolences to the family of Archbishop Spaita, his congregation and the Zambian Catholic Church.
