More people continue paying respects to President Sata

The momentum of people from all walks of life trooping to Mulungushi International Conference to pay their last respects to late President Michael Sata who died in London on October 28 has continued to build as member of the public remain with only three days to bid farewell to the departed leader.

The late President’s remains have been lying in state in the main conference hall of the Mulungushi International Conference for a fifth day today.

A check by QFM News at Mulungushi International Conference Centre this morning found a queue of people had stretched from outside the main gate of the conference centre, while other people were still trooping to the centre.

Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata who is also PF Lusaka district Chairman led members of his district executive committee in paying their last respects to the departed leader.

MMD President Nevers Mumba also led members of the National Executive Committee paying their last respects to President Sata.

President Sata’s remains will continue lying in state at the Mulungushi Conference Centre until November 9, when his body will be taken to Parliament on 10th November where a special session of Parliament will be held for Parliamentarians to pay tribute to the late President.

The body will thereafter be taken to State House where it will lie in state before being taken to National Heroes Stadium on 11th November where a requiem mass will be held in honor of the late President before burial at Embassy Park the presidential burial site.
