Former first Lady Thandiwe Banda is alive

The office of Fourth Republican President Rupiah Banda has dismissed reports circulating on social media that former first Lady Thandiwe Banda has died.

President Banda’s deputy Administrative Assistant Kennedy Limwanya has told QFM News interview that Mrs Banda is still alive in South Africa where she is receiving treatment.

Mr Limwanya has wondered where the rumor that the former first lady had died is emanating from.

Mr Limwaya says the former first lady is receiving treatment in South Africa and is responding well to treatment.

Former President Rupiah Banda recently revealed that the former first Lady has been diagnosed with cancer in South Africa where she is receiving treatment.

Last week a similar rumor filtered through on social media that Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni speaking people had died in South Africa where he had gone treatment.
