British support to presidential by-election commendable – Msoni

Opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) Party President Nason Msoni says the gesture by the British Government to offer financial support towards the holding of the presidential by-elections is commendable.

Mr. Msoni has told QFM News in an interview that the British Government has done a good thing by offering its assistance considering that the Zambian government did not plan for the forthcoming presidential by-election.

And Mr. Msoni says it is unacceptable for the ruling Patriotic Front to openly show that there is a power struggle within its ranks when Zambians are at the peak of mourning the late President Michael Sata.

He says there is need for the PF to do some housekeeping and not openly show that there is chaos in the ruling party over who should succeed President Sata.

Mr. Msoni adds that Zambians are not interested in seeing the PF struggle for power but are interested in seeing that President Sata is mourned with dignity.

Meanwhile, opposition National Democratic Party (NDP) Party President Tentani Mwanza says President Sata will be remembered for his vision to promote tradition and culture in the country.

Mr. Mwanza has told QFM News that even as people continue to mourn the departed Head of State, there is need to promote culture and tradition considering that the man they are mourning was a traditionalist.
