HH blames PF Govt for President Sata’s death

United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema says the Patriotic Front (PF) government is to blame for the death of President Michael Sata.

Mr. Hichilema says this is because the PF government had been allegedly concealing the late President’s illness despite widespread calls that the President be allowed to rest.

Speaking to Qfm News in an interview shortly after viewing the body of the late President Sata, Mr. Hichilema has observed that by allegedly concealing the illness of the President by repeatedly stating that he was well and working, the PF government had been in fact misleading the nation.

Mr. Hichilema states that he thinks therefore that misleading the nation in this manner to an extent where a life has been lost is irresponsible and shows lack of leadership on the part of the PF government.

He says the PF government needed to share with the people of Zambia the true position of the health of the late Head of State.

The UPND leader says there is thus no question about the matter that the PF government did not handle it properly.

He has suggested that the country can however only learn lessons from this by making sure that in future such matters are handled correctly.

And Mr. Hichilema has observed that the succession wrangles emerging in the ruling party following the death of the President Sata are solely the responsibility of the PF itself.

He says he thinks that any civilized people need to learn to sit down and discuss an issue in a sober manner in a way that solutions can be generated to solve the problem.
