Dr Kaseba appeals for her husband to be mourned in peace

First Lady Dr Christine Kaseba-Sata has appealed to Zambians to mourn President Michael Sata in peace.

Dr. Kaseba says regardless of one’s colour, tribe or race there is need to uphold peace and never to take to the streets regardless of the provocation.

Dr. Kaseba said this in a short note read on her behalf by Tourism Minister Jean Kapata when she joined hundreds of mourners at the Lusaka show grounds this afternoon.

Dr. Kaseba was accompanied by members of the first family and senior government officials and Cabinet Ministers among them chiefs and traditional affairs Minister Nkandu Luo, commerce, trade and industry Minister Robert Sichinga and sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili.

Secretary to the cabinet Rowland Msiska was also among the mourners.

Meanwhile people this afternoon braved the rains in their quest to bid farewell to President Michael Sata whose body has been lying in state at the Mulungushi International Conference since Saturday 1st November.

Long queues of people have continued forming at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre as people pay their last respects to the departed republican President.

President Sata who died on 28th October in London will be put to rest on Tuesday, November 11 at the Embassy Park.
