Body viewing of Sata begins

Body viewing of the late President Michael Sata has begun in Lusaka at Mulungushi Conference Center.

Being the chief mourner Dr. Christine Kaseba the wife of Mr. Sata was the first to say her last respects to her late husband.

Acting president Guy Scott later led Defense Service Chiefs, Cabinet Ministers, Members of the Patriotic Front (PF) Central Committee, dignitaries, Members of Parliament, opposition leaders and family members of the late President Sata in file-passing the cascade his remains are laying in-state.

After family members of the late President paid their last respects, members of the media were also allowed to file-pass the cascade after which members of the public were also allowed to view the body of the late President.

And according to a government program for the Saying of Last Respects for the late President Sata obtained by Qfm News today Sunday the 2nd of November, body viewing by members of the Defense and Security Services will start from 08:00hrs to 11hrs on Monday the 3rd of November.

From 11:00hrs to 18:00hrs on the same day body viewing by the general public will continue.

But starting from Tuesday the 4th to Sunday the 9th of November 2014 body viewing by the general public will start at 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs.

On Monday however the 10th of November 2014, there will be a valedictory service for the late President by councilors at Mulungushi International Conference Center from 07:30hrs to 08:30hrs.

The government’s program for the Saying of Last Respects for the late President Sata further indicates that body viewing by Royal Highnesses will be held from 08:30hrs to 09:30hrs.

It says the body of the late President will then depart the Mulungushi International Conference Center for Parliament Buildings after which an Interdenominational Church Service will be held at 10:00hrs.

At 12:00hrs on the same day the Funeral Cortege will depart Parliament buildings for State House.

Visiting Heads of State and Representatives of Head of States will then pay their last respects from 14:00hrs to 18:00hrs at State House where the body of the late President will lie-in-state until Tuesday the 11th of November which is the burial day.
