Sata’s death will cause disruption of major magnitude – Sichinga

Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Robert Sichinga says the death of President Michael Sata will cause a disruption of major magnitude in the country.

Mr. Sichinga however, says there will be no change in the policy direction stating that government will continue with the policies president Sata was pursuing and ensure that they are implemented effectively and speedily as a way of creating wealth for the people.

Mr. Sichinga notes that President Sata was a man who had command of his environment and the ruling party, adding that President Sata also had a great following of the people for a long time due to his humility.

He explains that President Sata’s concern was for the poor, the less privileged, the young and women in the country.

Mr Sichinga adds that the late President insisted on making sure that government was not extravagant by saving money.

He says President Sata’s attention to infrastructure development was aimed at opening up the country so that people could easily take their produce to the market and earn income out of it thereby reducing the levels of poverty in the country.

Mr Sichinga says President Sata has left a big gap in the government, party and the country as a whole stressing that he will be greatly missed.
